I called the Frederick branch to inform them on Tuesday morning that the previous renter left some cash in the vehicle (I dropped my rental on Sunday morning since they wereclosed I called the general line and Mike took my messageand said he will email the Frederick branch) She hung up on me because I told her that I have the cash and she shoull stop by with the cash. As of today, no one has botheredto return my call. Is that how customer service is? The owner of this cash will be looking for their money in this“difficult COVID” pandemic! Please let’s find the owner of this cash’! Thank you for your time!!

Although the customer service rep behind the counter was VERY nice and friendly, I was disappointed that I was asked to provide evidence that I had comp & collision coverageinsurance. I have never been asked to provide evidence before in the many times I have rented a vehicle. Since it was after hours, my insurance agent's office was closed. Fs able to reach someone who could verify my coverage. Atthe very least this should be communicated as necessary at the time of making the reservation.

Girls were eating when I returned my car. Both at the desk. Seemed annoyed to help. I had to drive back to the backof the lot to transfer things to my vehicle. Then return truck to them so they could close me out. Then walk all the way back to the last row of the parking lot to get my car and leave. And FINALLY, it would be nice to hear THANK YO.Chuck fil A or even Enterprise. I rent because your price is right. Customer service is lacking.

I have a small impact vehicle and planned a road trip from Maryland to Florida. We needed to rent an SUV since we just had our first child (Six weeks old). We picked up the vehicle from the Frederick location and the SUV reeked of cigarette smoke. We were told that there are no other SUV's therefore we could not get another vehicle for our trip. We purchased multiple different air fresheners, baking soda and used coffee beans, however the cigarette odor could not be eliminated. It literally made me feel sick as we were driving. I was worried about having the infant in the vehicle. We had to wash all our clothes once we arrived in Florida. Everything that was inside the vehicle smelled like cigarette smoke. I called Nextcar's customer service number and was disappointed to learn that they do not partner with the other locations, therefore I could not exchange the vehicle for another car. The ladies at the desk were really nice. The only thing I recommend is cleaning the window. I had to clean the windows when I was at a gas station there was a really bad glare on them. I also had to put air in the tires but that might of been due to the weather change. This was the first time I have heard about Next Car and I will being renting mynext car in Dec from you all. thank you

I found the staff to be harassing and impolite. I was nickle and dimed on every little thing. Rates always changing. Staff unwillingness to help when there was a problem. Was called relentlessly about returning was I was renting for 8 weeks. Was told it was ok to return car in afternoon then was charged 54 dollar fee when I did exactly what was approved. I paid over 2000 as a good customer and felt looked down upon and harassed. Abu helped me out a few times and was somewhat helpful . But not happy overall.

Normally good experience, but last time I rented the carswindows were dirty and the interior looked like it was wiped down with a dirty reg. The outside exterior was covered in sap. The intrument panel displayed "MAINTENANCE REQUIRED". I called Fred Nextcar within 10 mins and was told someone would call me back. I didn't get a call back until a day later. Also, I had to wait 33 mins to get the car. It was reserved a. week prior.

I reserved and paid for an intermediate sized vehicle andreceived a hatchback. Upon returning the vehicle the representative tried to tell me I would be charged an extra cleaning fee for an excessively dirty vehicle Because there was sand on the seat. I was not aware that I needed to clean the car for your next customer for you. There was dirt on the floor because there were no floor mats. Don’t you vacuum the cars between customers anyways? Lesson learned. I will return to using the larger companies in the future so that I get what I pay for and do not risk the chance of being taken advantage of.

I arrived at 7:45 for a scheduled 8:00 rental. The rental folks were very nice but advised that the vehicle was not ready as it was in service for an oil change. Time kept slipping as the process continued to be delayed. I was on a tight schedule and expressed my profound disappointment with the process. Finally the vehicle was mad3 available at about 8:55 am. A delay of nearly an hour. The rep provided mewith 20% off the rental price which was about $16. Pleaseunderstand that my hourly billable rate vastly exceeds that number. I asked for a larger discount which was not given. They advised that their manager, Abu, would call me on Thursday to discuss the matter. He never called. The customer service and rental was wonderful on the renting front but when the vehicle was returned we were told we had pets in the van, which we did not and was made to pay a $50 fee. We do have pets in our home and may have had something come off a jacket but I looked at what the representative was showing and it was nothing really on carpet except from getting in and out of a vehicle in rainy weather. I recently rented a vehicle from Hertz and not one question when I returned the vehicle. I will not be planning to rent from NextCar again.

Your rules of verifying insurance are too restrictive. Your service member had to get verbal confirmation from my insurance company even when that insurance companies APP on my phone showed I had insurance. Then I had to pay an extra $8 per day to add my wife as a driver. I won't be using you again unless I have no other choice.

Nextcar saved my trip Thanksgiving week! They were the only rental in Frederick that had cars on the I was leaving.Renting was easy fast and the staff was awesome. The onlyproblem I had was they were priced a little higher than others in Frederick. All said and done I would use them again and it was a good experience.

My personal vehicle was in for repairs which I was informedwould take 2 weeks. So I rented and prepaid for a NEXTCAR vehicle. However, my personal vehicle was repaired in a week so I returned the NEXTCAR a week early. I was informed that I would not receive any refund for early return as I had prepaid. I talked to customer service and they basically said, Sorry that is the policy agreement. Other rental car agencies honor early return for prepaid so for that reason I wouldnot recommend prepaying ever again through NEXTCAR. I was basically out about $170 dollars which is hard to accept when the car was likely rented out again to someone else.

I feel the need to contact my insurance company was a little overboard. I have the right to refuse coverage and takefull responsibility for the vehicle. Why call my insurance company to verify my coverage extends to the rental? This adds time to the experience and unnecessary.

I will only rent from Nextcar for all future rental car needs, the process is easy, the customer service is excellentand the staff are exceptional. The car wash was down so the car wasn't washed before hand but it wasnt filthy and i was going throught the mountains with it so it wasnt a big deal...i will say that my only down opinion is the interior cleaning is ok but not great, second car i rented that had trash in the storage compartments.

I have rented vehicles from this location before but I was extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of the vehicle. The car smelled very strong of smoke, the windows were greasy with a film on every window and the steering wheel was dirty & sticky. I called to inform of the smoke smell & was told I could go back and select another vehicle but because of time restraints that wasn’t possible. I would strongly suggest that the vehicles are cleaned better.

Not enough info given when I made my reservation about the insurance requirement, so in spite of having coverage on my personal policy, I had to pay over $50 for your extra insurance because my insurance customer service is closed on weekends. I spent an hour at your office trying to work this out before giving up and forking over the extra charges. NOT HAPPY!!!

When I returned the car on Saturday at 12:58pm. I was given attitude by the female counterperson stating that they system closes out at 1pm, yadda, yadda. Since this was my first time returning on a Saturday I felt that this statement could have been made in a better manner. This is the second strike. The next time there is an issue I will notbe renting from you and making sure others don't either.

The online process is horrible. Lots of glitches. Everytime I tried to prepay early it declined my card but unknown to me it charged my card. No one could honor the pricethru the reservation line even having paying $203 for rentals last week. There was one charge not refunded which delayed process of renting because I needed that refunded toreprocess whole rental transaction. Hopefully website gets straightened out as soon as possible.

It was a pleasure dealing with the Nextcar agent at Frederick. Very courteous and helpful. On the other hand, Gaithersburg turned out to be a disaster. No van available at the time I needed it AND no phone call to let me know that. Lost 3 hours in having to drive to Frederick to pick up a van there. Will probably not deal with your shop in G=Burg in the future.

Hi It was very hard to deal with the Coustamer service representative at the location. Very poor Coustamer service. They were pretending that they don’t know the IR rental and they trying to ripoff Coustamers like me. I had toliterally explain to them. So it wasn’t really good experience.

We have rented several cars from this location. The customer service has always been outstanding. The only problem we have is that the cars are not clean. I have had cars with steering issues, tire leaks and engine issues. I do enjoy using this location but the cars, not so much.

The car drove fine and was fuel efficient. Customer servicewas great as always, but this time the car's interior fabric was very dirty with stains and hair all over the inside of the car. I felt uncomfortable in it because of that but had no time to change it, as I was in a rush. There wasalso a slight hint of cigarette smoke in it. I am not a smoker so I am very sensitive to the smell of it.

I usually use Enterprise and thought I would give you guys a try. The process of having to call my insurance agent was a major hassle. They weren't there, as it was 5:30 on a Friday afternoon. So then I had to show copies of bills. Again, major hassle and something that Enterprise never asked me for. I may use you guys again but this is something that should have been communicated when I made the rental.

There was no washer fluid in the front but it worked for the rear. The Rear right turning signal was out. The car was beautiful and as always, renting with NEXCAR is Never complicated! This time it took a little longer to get help, but everything else was great!

The car was rented by a smoker and was a little difficult to use at the beginning. It finally aired out on my return. Unfortunately I did not know till I was a ways into my trip. I also returned it with more gas than I left with.I let the rep know and he barely acknowledged the smoke issue or gas.

Overall my experience with NextCar was satisfactory; however, I was very disappointed with the level of customer service, particularly with a female employee in the Frederick office. She was quite dismissive in her interactions when issuing the rental and when I returned the rental car. I also asked if there was a provision to be dropped off at my residence after dropping off the rental. She told me thatthere usually was an accommodation but that due to her schedule, she could not make that available to me. I understand that there may have been other appointments, but therewas another employee on staff as well as an empty showroom of car dealers lounging around. I was not offered an alternative nor any accommodation when I waited for someone to come pick me up on short notice. I understand unforeseen circumstances, but the way it was handled only added to the poor customer service I received from this employee. I believe that this should be addressed because otherwise the

There are times when certain cars still retain the smell ofsmoke from previous drivers. I know this i snot always preventable, but we cannot have that smell when we take long trips - it is offensive. For those traveling out of town, it should be made clear that NEXTCAR is not a national chain and that if a breakdown were to occur, the renter would be stranded until such time as repairs were made. Granted, the chance of a breakdown is remote; however, a major reason to rent a car is the ability to leave one car and pick up another immediately so as not to lose valuable vacation time waiting for a car repair.

I've always had good service in the past 4 years renting vehicles from NextCar and your prices are very good. The main problem is the vehicles are never very clean especially inside. My latest rented van I had to clean after I took it. The windows were all dirty and the windshield covered in bugs. The inside had stains all over the seats and the interior sides going upto the roof were terrible dirty. Thedash was terrible as well as the floor. Your prices are really good which I'm pleased about as I go no where else to rent vehicles. You certainly need a lot of improvement on the cleanliness of your vehicles. I think that all cars rented should be rented with a full tank of gas. This way the customer can make sure it is returned with a full tank of gas and it eliminates the customer trying to gauge how much fuel they need to return it with the same amount when it was rented.

There was a slight smell of a previous smoker in the car. We drove to Albany NY and back and 11 hours with that smell was not pleasant even tho it was slight. I would Up the fine if people smoke in the car and let that fine pay for the next renter who has to be inconvenienced. Other than that the people and the car were great.

I was given a car with 1/2 a tank of gas in it and told to bring it back with about the same 1/2 tank. My first experience ever with a system that does not rent a car with a full tank of gas and ask that it be returned the same way. Also,the car air conditioning smelled terrible after the car wassitting for a long time. I have been renting from Nextcar Frederick for four years now, and this year has been my only bad experience.

The car was dirty, inside and out when I picked it up. I had to ask them to take it back and clean it out some before I left. There was a smell in the car. I really think someone had been smoking in it previously. The windshield wiperswere really in bad shape and with the tropical storm we had, it was very difficult driving back from Kentucky with the wipers on the vehicle.

Last week my friends and i were on a road trip to the outer banks from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our car broke down in Frederick, Maryland. We called several rental car facilities nearby and the prices were outrageous and the phone call help was lackluster. NextCar stood out. Genius to usea call center for reservations - their competitors don't do this and therefore the reservation booking with someoneat their office is hurrried resulting in poor customer service all around. The reservation booking at next car was quick, informative and Stacy helped me get a car 30 min before the facility in Frederick closed - guided me on the materials I needed to have ready to quickly rent and offered to hold a car for me while I decided. The team at the location made the process quick and easy and were waiting for us when we arrived.

I've had a few instances where the car rental either had a bag of French fries under the seat, another time with a big bag of trash in the trunk, another time where there was a huge spider crawling on the passenger seat, and another time where the seatbelt across my chest gave me a huge rash, and finally this time the cup holders were super stickyand dirty. Rented a Toyota Camry from the Frederick location. Picked the car up with my wife about 6pm ish and followed her home. The next morning when she went to take my kids to schoolmy son went to get in the back of the car and informed mywife there was in fact a USED CONDOM on the floor of the back seat. Returned the car that same day. The district manager refunded my charges for the car and assured that he would infact give me a deal on the next time I needed to rent a vehicle if I did ever use next car again. I came back to next car because The service department couldn't fix mycar towed The service department couldn't fix my car so it had to go back in the shop. Your employees were wonderful to work with. The only complaint I would have is the cleanliness of the car when we picked it up. The outside was filthy which didn't really bother me but I've never had that before. The inside on the other hand was so dirty. Mud all over the floor mats and floor, dust and dirty everywhere inside the car. Garbage under the seats. We threw away a lot of trash, coffee cups, evena container of old moldy grapes that had to have been there for a long time. There is no way it was cleaned at all from the person who had it before us. You guys may just want to check on who does the cleaning if your vehicles because it is obviously not getting done. Your employees are great and I would consider using you again solely because of them but the detailing of the cars need to be addressed.

Yes they gave me a coupon to get a free wash at an Exxon but when you are rushing to get on the road to travel who has time to add something extra to they already busy day? The site at Frederick charges the rental fee and the deposit to the card and later refunds the deposit. This is NOT consistent with other sites where there is just a hold for the deposit portion which falls off after the car is returned in original condition. It is NOT fair to charge the deposit to the card (per consumer protection laws) and you are opening yourself up to lawsuits

Dealing with international customers is something you guys need to work on. I didn't like being phoned out of the blue for my credit card number when I asked twice before if you guys needed it when I phoned. Somewhere on your siteit should've warned me I need an in state driver's license to qualify for your insurance coverage. This just about put my whole trip in jeopardy. The Dodge Dart I rented was clean on the inside but had a number of dents on the roof, one of which was heavily rusted ( been that way a while ). It was not noted when pickedup. Not obvious because it was above eye level. Should bedisclosed or better yet repaired. Except for that, the agent that I dealt with was pleasant ... he tried to find me acar with legroom to accommodate my length.

Found after going home, the rear seat had a white powder residue on it. I also turned the heater on and we ended up smelling a very sweaty stinky smell as if someone with bad body odor had been in the car come from the vents. The vehicle also had at numerous times when stopping at a sign or in a traffic jam nearly stalled and ran very rough. I really don't like the $150 deposit when using a credit card. Other rental agencies do not do this. I will most likely go to the other rental agencies next time I need a rental.

First car was clean on the outside, however seats had stains, so I asked for another car. Decently clean on the outside, however the inside was black leather, white Chevi Cruze. It appeared that someone was smoking inside the vehicle. Dashboard has what appeared to be ashes, seats had crumbs within the cracks. I asked that it be cleaned and it was. Definitely better. I rent cars often never have I've been given a car so filthy. The Customer Service Rep said it was clean before I got it. Please make sure the cars are inspected prior to renting it to customers.

The breaks on the car was bad that you could feel it each time you try and stop or slow down from 55mpr. Also the break light on the dash will come on as well. This car felt like it was unsafe

I would use again if assuming personal liability was an option. This is the only car rental company that I am aware of that requires coverage and spends so much time verifying. I feel like you are more interested in selling insurance than renting autos. However, I must compliment the staff for being so hospitable.

Car had not been vacuumed out since the last usage. Also the breaks seemed to be in need of a change. No one at the counter when I entered and when they returned I had to waituntil they finished something in the computer although I never saw another customer?

Good news. got a free upgrade since booked car was not available. Though clean inside, vehicle had not been washed at all. Car ran well for entire trip. Bad News. office is supposed to open at 8AM on Saturday. It opened about 05 minutes late. To make matters worse only that time they started to log on to computers and count and arrange the keys on a 'carkeys holder board', thus holding us customers back. Secondly, she called my insurance company and said they are 'NOT OPEN' yet. I called USAA on my phone right in front of her andhanded over my phone to her to prove what she said was wrong. What happens if another customer did not have the presence of mind? unfortunately he/she would accept Nextcar rep's lie and it would have messed up his or travel plans badly. Thirdly I had my wife's DL and her name on insurance papers that I carried, you rep refused to add my wife as a driver andasked me to physical bring her there. They did not mention about EZ pass availability, maybe forgot & I can accept it.

The car was filthy with mud and dirt. It was nighttime andobviously dark when I rented the car; so the magnitude of the dirt was not visible until daylight. However I was already out when I discovered this and would not have been able to make it back to the dealer in time to exchange it for another car before they closed and still be able to make it to my destination in time. For a newer car, the vehicle was also unclean with food and residue in the cup and particle holders as well as in between the seats. It needed to be fully detailed. There was also a deodorized smell that seemed as though it were covering up the scent of cigarette smoke, Overall, I was extremely displeased with the condition of the car I rented. I did call in to NextCar to aware them about my dissatisfaction of the vehicle they rented to me--if nothing else then--to make sure that the next customer would notreceive it in this condition. The customer service staff handled it well and were professional and friendly.

Since the Frederick location is not open a reasonable length of time on weekends, you need to give a one day rate to vehicles dropped after closing on Saturdays. 2015 Ford 15 Pax vans are useless if you have any luggage to carry, and the high seat backs block all view from the rear view mirror.Don't give them to anyone without warning.

You need to review your insurance policy. Couldn't reach a real person at my company so I had to pay for your insur over the weekend. Very annoying considering I can log into my insur acct a you can see everything you need to know. Then had to run all the way home at break neck speed to retrieve two forms of ID since you obviously don't consider adrivers license as ID. You seriously need to figure out a more customer friendly way of protecting yourself. Also, tired of the excuse that all info is on your website. Consider telling people pertinent info at reservation time as not everyone has Internet/computer access. Thank you.

Not the vehicle I was lead to believe I was renting. No GPS, Power Outlet not working, Oil was WAY OVER DUE to be changed (5k+ was last oil change and I put another 1k on van). Oil was dirty and low so it had not been checked/changed prior to my renting van. No doubt about it! Windshield washerfluid was low. Renting this van did not provide piece of mind when I was traveling 1k miles with family. In addition,I had to return to dealer when I first rented as there was (is) a terrible squeaking/rattling noise from rear tailgate lift. Also, I put the rear seats down and there was a dirtynapkin, straw and spilled liquid from previous owner. Vehicle was not cleaned sufficiently prior to my renting. I think receiving a 5% discount on rental was a pretty lame way of saying sorry. My opinion......It has to be hard to earn avaluable recommendation with all these issues. A lot of money was spent on rental and I truly do not feel I received value for my hard earned money!

Good local place...my only issue was that, as what occurs in many other car rental places, they didn't have the size car I wanted--thus I had an "upgrade" but I wanted the smallersize to save gas, so really not an upgrade. I only wish every rental car company had the correct car you reserved in the first place...but nice place

Car was not ready upon arrival although I had made a reservation, clerk was not prepared and seemed unaware that Ihad reserved car. Then she could not find the car, we hadto circle the building. I barely mad it to my event on time. I called later that evening to verify the time I coulddrop off and was put on hold for almost 15 minutes.

The reps that work there are nice but the cars are consistently disgustingly dirty. Dirtiest rental cars I've ever rented hands down. I guess wiping the insides down and vacuuming them out is asking too much.
